We originally planned on putting up some content that explained how to fix all your problems and get endless wealth. But sadly our writer went mad and decided to delete it because according to them “The world still can’t handle the truth!” So while we’re dealing with that, we decided to bring you a phone against phone battle, the Asus Zenfone 6z vs OnePlus 7. Bearing witness to this comparison will leave you with clarity on what each phone is all about, and may even help you make a decision. So without further ado, let us start you off.

From a broader view, both phones possess almost similar capabilities with a few glaring differences. The Asus Zenfone 6z takes the stage with a revolutionary new flip camera, giving its users that much needed edge when they want better selfies. The OnePlus 7 doesn’t fall very far behind in this comparison given that the actual configuration of the cameras is the same: 48 Megapixel Sony IMX586 with a difference in aperture size. But Asus has found a way to bring us two camera angles for the price of one, and since they’re the same camera your selfies will gain unrivalled resolution.

But the flip camera leaves itself vulnerable to a lot of external damage from scratches and such, a 360° full body protector is recommended to keep the camera free of tiny scratches on the lens. But given the novelty of the flip camera, only a few invisible screen guards like the Gadgetshieldz screen, body and camera protector are capable of keeping the Zenfone 6z camera safe. So when choosing your phone, remember what you’ll need. The OnePlus also has a similar problem and will also benefit greatly from a 360° screen protector, but the issue isn’t as pronounced given that the cameras are immovable.

Now let’s talk Display:

The ASUS ZenFone 6 comes with a 6.4-inch display, while the OnePlus 7 includes a 6.41-inch panel. Both of these phones offer flat, full HD+ displays, and they both offer the same display aspect ratio (19.5:9).

These two displays are considerably different, though, as the Zenfone 6 includes an IPS LCD display, while the OnePlus 7 comes with an Optic AMOLED panel. The OnePlus 7’s display sure is more eye-pleasing and offers punchier colors, even blacks look better on it. Viewing angles are great on both devices, so that’s not an issue at all.

The ZenFone 6’s display is protected by a sheet of Gorilla Glass 6, while the OnePlus 7 comes with either Gorilla Glass 5 or 6. In any case, the OnePlus 7 wins this category.

Do they last longer?

The ASUS ZenFone 6 is difficult to beat when it comes to battery life, and even though the OnePlus 7 does offer really solid battery life, the Zenfone 6 has an upper hand in this regard.

ASUS stuffed in a 18W fast charging 5,000mAh battery inside the ZenFone 6, which is a huge battery pack. The Snapdragon 855 has excellent power management, in addition to Android 9 Pie, and the ZenFone 6 can provide you with greater battery life.

The OnePlus 7, has a 20W fast charging 3,400mAh unit, which does seem small in comparison, but it’s not. The OnePlus 6T had excellent battery life with the same battery and the same display, while its SoC was not as great as the Snapdragon 855 in terms of battery management. The ZenFone 6 is the winner here.

Given that we are probably not the only source you will want to consult, we decided to help you by compiling the verdicts and results of multiple experts who know exactly what to look for if you are on the fence about buying the Asus Zenfone 6Z or the OnePlus 7.

According to Antutu Benchmarks, the Oneplus 7 performs better than the Asus 6z. But when it comes to the overall speed and GPU, the Asus 6z fares slightly better.

A Word From the experts :

1. Let’s talk about audio for a bit. If you need a headphone jack, the ZenFone 6z is the only choice here, as the OnePlus 7 does not include one. Both devices include stereo speakers, though, and both of them are good enough.

The ZenFone 6Z comes with DTS Headphone X sound, while the OnePlus 7 offers Dolby Atmos sound support. Both phones are capable of providing decent sound via headphones, though the ZenFone 6Z does sound better in the end.

Overall, the OnePlus 7 is the winner of this comparison, though the ZenFone 6Z is definitely not far behind. ASUS did not release a flagship phone for a while not, and the ZenFone 6Z surely managed to surprise quite a few people with its arrival. ASUS did many things right with the phone, so both devices are a great choice.

2. Both smart phones have their own strengths and are excellent devices for everyday use. In both cases, they are excellent devices. Just ask yourself the question about the most important criterion for you (design, speed, user interface…) and you can make your choice.

3. Picking one of these two phones is tough, especially since they are quite similar in many ways. If you don’t have any brand preference, we recommend the Asus 6Z (Review) over the OnePlus 7 (Review). With the 6Z, you get a more modern design, a unique camera system with capable sensors, good battery life, a lean skin on Android, excellent performance, and other little conveniences such as expandable storage and a headphone jack.

It is on the heavier side, and its stereo speakers aren’t as good as those of the OnePlus 7, but as an overall package, the Asus 6Z delivers good bang for the buck, especially the base variant. The higher storage variants are slightly more expensive than equivalent OnePlus 7 offerings, but one again, we feel that premium is justified when you consider the features you get.

The OnePlus 7 is by no means a bad phone. It’s slimmer, lighter, just as powerful, and slightly more affordable than the Asus 6Z for higher storage variants. In our opinion, this phone would have benefitted from the OnePlus 7 Pro’s (Review) newer and fresher design language. Instead, it looks just like the OnePlus 6T, which doesn’t give it much flaunt value. However, if you’re a long term OnePlus user, then you might favour the 7 for OxygenOS and its familiar design, and you’ll still be getting a highly capable smartphone.

One of the challenges we all will face is personalizing both the Asus Zenfone 6z and the OnePlus 7. A lot of people focus so much on getting the device they completely ignore everything till later. That leaves your phone skinless, plain, and unprotected for a lot of time. When getting a new phone, it’s always a good idea to also get a vibrant and customized Gadgetshieldz skin that will go with it. But it’ll be too late if you already get a scratch before you get it in a skin. And if you think a case is too bulky or if you prefer to enjoy your phone’s factory colour and finish, consider investing in a Clear 360° screen and body protector from Gadgetshieldz that will protect your Zenfone 6z or OnePlus 7 from scratches for a long, long time while still staying invisible.
